When You Care to Much
There's nothing wrong with caring for others but when it starts to effect your personal happiness there's a problem.
I naturally expect people to care for one another but unfortunately it doesn't always happen that way. In my personal experience I have learned that others only care about themselves. They have a personal agenda all the time. If it's not about them then they have no time for anything. It's very sad.
I would hate to say that we care to much. Is there such a thing? I think so. I think it's possible to care about others more than yourself. This poses a problem for that individual. Their very own happiness is at stake. They feel trapped in a world of feeling used instead of being helpful or loved.
Why can't people just appreciate what you do or how you feel? What a sad world we live in when you feel like you care to much.

Best Friends
Friendship. That word alone says so much.
It's not only an amazing word, but an asset. Something as valuable as a friendship should never be taken for granted on any levels, instead it should be cherished. It's truly hard to find someone who you can fully trust not only with your heart and soul but your life as well. Someone that will be there for you through thick and thin. Someone to tell your secrets to, to confide your worries to, and to give you the best advice.
Many friendships start out as young children, they grow and blossom over the years. Many start as we are older and understand our needs more. Very few friendships can endure a lifetime. As we grow older and our lives begin to change, so do our friends. As our lives take different paths, our friends do also, making hard to sustain a healthy relationship with each other.
Friendship is one thing but having a best friend is something entirely different. This is a person whom is more like family, a person to share your inner self with, a person that will keep you rounded and give the utmost attention when needed. A best friend is not taken lightly, one must earn that right. It's a relationship built on trust, not acquaintance. It doesn't matter where you come from or who you know that qualifies someone as a best friend. It's having the other person's best interest at heart, sharing the same feelings for one another, and never having to say it.
Best friends and friendships are like rare gems, when you find them, polish them, nurture them, and keep them safe. Life is too short to spend it alone, so I urge you to get out there and find yours.

Community Generousity
So this church came to my apartments to help with thanksgiving dinner, Suzanne White Roberts, the boys and I walked over to the community center, there was singing and it was a really cool little set up. I got a 16lb turkey, stuffing, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes and a red velvet cake mix with butter cream icing. Also, they did a raffle and I won a $15 gift card to Frischs. Feeling pretty blessed today. I think the boys and I may be going to church in the morning. :)
What a great thing communities do for their own. I was there to witness the testimony of God, grace, and humanity.
I have never been a part of something like this before. It was wonderful to see people go out of their way, that don't have to, to make sure others have a wonderful holiday. Just seeing this makes my Thanksgiving more meaningful. I am so thankful for these kind people for seeing that people in need have a wonderful dinner.
The young lady that shared this story to social media is a recovering addict. I have seen her go from deaths door to tears of graciousness in a record amount of time. She may not be rich in monetary means but she is rich with the blessings God has in store for her. She has turned her life around, got custody of her two beautiful boys back and works a full time job. She doesn't own a car, when need be she will walk those boys to daycare,(where she has to cut through the woods on a trail due to location and no sidewalks), so she can catch a bus to get to work. If that isn't determination, I don't know what is. I am proud to call her my daughter. So to see people come and give her hope is something I am truly thankful for.
I know we would like to believe that poverty in our great nation doesn't exist, but it does. Please keep this in mind, if there is anything you can do for anyone, please do. You will be truly rewarded in ways you can't imagine.

Butting Heads
What is it about our children? Seems like the older they get the more you butt heads. They think they are always right and find anyway possible to try to prove you wrong on all counts.
Little do they know, they did not create the rules to life. They like to think they did but the joke is on them. They are not the first to break those rules either. Kids have been doing whatever they can get by with for generations. They think that if they sneak and do something without getting caught they have won the battle. Trouble is, there is no battle.
The only victory is that they see they are accountable for everything they do. Life is all about consequences, paying the price for what is ultimately right. Unfortunately, not all kids understand this. They aren't taught that. In today's society, there are no consequences. How terrible is that? Kids running rampant until they are forced to grow up.
Bad thing, where does that leave their children? Their future? I pray everyday that all the head butting I have done over the years pays off and my children understand that life is what you make it. Not what you can get by with.

Christmas Lights
The Christmas lights
With their beautiful glare
So bold and bright
They fill the air
What can I say
Red and green
They take your breath away
With their festive scene
The children stop to stare
While the adults look on amazed
As they emit their flare
And leave everyone dazed
The Christmas lights
Come in different colors
Even in whites
To please our mothers
Beauty the are
To all those around
You can see them afar
Even from the ground

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is a time to get together with your loved ones (friends and family) and give thanks.
Be thankful for all the blessings God has created for you. Don't take for granted that your friends and family will always be there. Take the opportunity while you have it to tell them how much they mean to you.
Also be thankful for the "little things" like hugs, smiles, and "thank yous". They don't come around very often either. People get to busy to say or do these things.
Be thankful for what you have. Many people don't have beds, homes, cars, or family. It's extremely nice to be able to lie in a comfy bed at night instead of a bench somewhere.
Please take Thanksgiving and tell all those you care about how thankful you are to have them.

Daily Prompt: Second Thoughts
via
I've tried to write this twice
So I guess I should take my own advice
If it's that hard to choose
You just might lose
There's always another choice
So use your best voice
To decide what is best
And forget about the rest
Nothing in life comes with ease
So pick whatever you please
It's up to you to elect
Or whether you reject
This is what I know
Never just go with the flow
Cause it's a very sore sight
When it comes back to bite

Things that I find Irksome
Things that bother me most
Are things like burnt toast
And peanut butter without jelly
to fill my belly
Teens that are rude
Or even crude
Kids that don't mind
Who need a swat on the behind
Clean laundry all over the floor
Makes me refuse to do more
Dirty dishes all over the house
Enough to attract a mouse
People that turn you into a spy
Cause all they know how to do is lie
They turn you into a sleuth
Just to find the truth
I could go on and on you see
of things that irk me
But you probably don't have all day
To hear what I have to say

Future Possibilites
As a young child you play pretend. In pretend land you can be anyone or anything you want to be. That's the fun of it all. Nothing is there to stand in your way, life realities simply don't exist.
From the time you can remember people were always asking you, "What do you wanna be when you grow up?". Of course your answers probably changed with time. Unless you absolutely were born knowing exactly what you wanted to do or become. That's not the case for most people unfortunately. The struggle is real. What do I want to do? Where do I see myself in 20 years? Answers are sometimes hard to come by. I mean after all the possibilities are endless.
Hell, in pretend land you could be the plane, not the pilot. Everything seems so simple when we are young and full of imagination. But the reality is, you can't be a plane so what are you going to do. The joy of being little and pretending is that you can start to explore what interests you and hopefully help you answer these questions.
Never stop a child from playing or pretending. It's molding their future, their minds, and their ability to make decisions. Decisions that one day may change their lives.

Overwhelmed
Life can be really hard sometimes, never knowing which way to turn. So many things going on at the same time. You gotta do this and that, and it just never seems to end. Why can't things be simple? Why do other people feel the need to bombard you with their lives and problems? Like you don't have enough of your own to deal with.
It's funny because when you are young, everything seemed so easy. I'm sure that's because your parents were to busy being overwhelmed. Then again, life seemed simpler back then. Things have changed a lot over the years. Life is so fast paced and nobody stops to breathe.
Wouldn't it be nice if people showed some respect? Now days, that just doesn't happen. They don't care about you or what's happening in your life, as long as you are doing for them. There is no such thing as inconvenience either. To hell with what you got going on, you aren't important. Their needs are far more greater. I mean, come on now, can't you just stop your life? Afterall, your life is meaningless compared to theirs.
You know what? All those "needy" people who can't seem to get how important you are, the ones overwhelming you, seem to forget......they need YOU! Funny huh? They take you for granted and use you up like a roll of toilet paper. They never stop to realize without you, they are lost. Where would they be without you?
It's really ashame the way people treat each other. I can only hope and pray that they find themselves before they get overwhelmed by someone else. But karma has a way of coming back. Then and only then, will they see the light.

Themed Parties
I always enjoy going to parties. It's a time to simply get together with friends or loved ones and have a good time. It's always enjoyable to get to catch up and see how everyone has been.
What's even better is a party with a theme. The cool decorations and food are the best. It adds a special effect to the entire venue when you see how good everything looks and comes together.
I'm talking from experience when I say it's a lot of hard work and very time consuming. Nonetheless, it's always worth it when it all works out. Not to mention when you are complimented on how well everything looks. It's rather quite uplifting to your soul.
I especially love when the kids see it. They get so excited. The happiest kid makes the happiest party planner. Smiles all around. Those are the best EVER!
So next time you plan a party, think about a theme your little one is interestd in and go for it! It is so totally worth it. You just might be rewarded with a special extra hug😀.
